One of the highlights of the year is when The Prairie Schooler releases her new designs. This only happens twice a year, so every February and July I am keeping a close eye on her website. And Pamela always delivers with great new designs.

So when this year’s Christmas designs came out, I just “knew” I had to stitch at least one of them. I picked this design and gathered my supplies. One of the things that is so great about The Prairie Schooler is, that she almost always uses the same fabric, Lambswool. Now, to avoid any confusion, Lambswool is the name of a certain color of linen, it is not made of any kind of wool :).
Dus, toen de kerstpatronen van dit jaar uitkwamen, “wist” ik gewoon dat ik er een van moest borduren. Ik heb dit patroon uitgekozen en mijn materialen verzameld. Een van de voordelen van The Prairie Schooler is dat ze bijna altijd dezelfde stof gebruikt, Lambswool. Nu, om verwarring te voorkomen, dit is de kleur van een bepaald linnen, het is niet van wol gemaakt :).
Ever since she introduced thos blackwork borders with this design, I have really wanted to stitch one of them. So, here is my version of the Santa in the middle of the top row. I have stitched it on 40 count lambswool (which was still laying around because of this project). I used Threadworx 1089 and 1048 for the red and green in this design, all the other colors are DMC.
Sinds ze die blackwork randjes heeft geïntroduceerd met dit ontwerp, heb ik er al een willen borduren. Dus, hier is mijn versie van de kerstman in het midden van de bovenste rij. Ik heb ‘m geborduurd op 16 draads lambswool dat nog op mijn borduurtafeltje lag vanwege dit project. Het rood en groen zijn Threadworx garen nummer 1089 en 1048, de andere kleuren zijn DMC.
Oh, and just a word of warning, in case you are bitten by The Prairie Schooler bug as well. Her designs sometimes go out of print rather fast. I discovered that When Witches go riding is out of print, even though a google search came up with the picture on her website. This was released in 2008.
Oh, en nog een waarschuwing voor het geval je ook het The Prairie Schooler virus te pakken hebt, haar patronen kunnen redelijk snel out of print zijn. Ik ontdekte dat When Witches go Riding is out of print, hoewel een zoekopdracht in google, dit plaatje op haar eigen website opleverde. Dit patroon is in 2008 uitgebracht.
